[TWITTER BEEF]: Gucci Mane (@Gucci1017) beefing w/ Yung Joc (@IamYungJoc) on twitter before his Raleigh, NC show!

Today Gucci performs in Raleigh on his Trap God tour and earlier today we spotted some shit talkin from his Twitter page. Publicity stunt? Who knows! But no better state to talk shit from than--- never mind, lol Just peep the tweets below:

Apparently it appears some sort of convo was going on probably with his entourage b/c out the blue he just calls out Young Joc telling him they'll "resolve issues when he gets off tour". Then it goes on to random blurting about hatin phones, a shoutout to Raleigh then straight up callin him a bitch lol. All within the same length of time.

We found Young Joc;s responses which were mere responses to either fans or people he knew that questioned the tweets:

Joc agree that is was probably "bait" for his alleged publicity. I guess Joc doesn't care about it too much but we'll see what happens. Maybe we'll get info on some more talk trashing at his performance... although I hope Gucci doesn't waste performance time on addressing beef that's only on one end.

[NEWS]: @DJCHUCKT LAUNCHES @THEAUTHORITYDJS OF NC/SC! WE GOT THE ROSTER!

DJ Chuck T is proud to announce the formation of a DJ organization that promises to make a bigger impact on Hip-Hop than any such organization has done in years. The Authority DJ Coalition, created during the fall of 2012, continues Chuck T’s career-long mission to champion The Carolinas, and operates with the sole goal of turning North and South Carolina into a self-sustaining market for music and entertainment.

At start-up, The Authority DJ Coalition consists of 30 DJs, based in both North and South Carolina, who share a common dedication to promoting their region and a documented history of supporting local, signed and unsigned talent. They are also a group of DJs who have each developed a far reaching global network that proves that it is entirely possible for The Carolinas to “get on the map” because the world is ready to hear what they have to say. Of course, that’s not news to DJ Chuck T. “Every time I go out of town or talk to someone in the entertainment business,” he says, “whether it’s an artist, record executive, or promoter, they always ask what’s going on in The Carolinas, who they should throw their support behind, and how they can promote their brands here. So, obviously, there’s a huge gap when it comes to knowledge about The Carolinas from the outside coming in, but definitely not because of a lack in interest.” His theory is that the “Carolina Movement” just needed the right group of individuals to lead the charge. “We have a lot of talent here,” he adds, “a lot of talented artists, producers, musicians, DJs and the list goes on and on. We need a coalition to showcase what we have to the outside world. Not just that, but The Carolinas are so big and diverse that we need to let people who are here know what’s going on too.” The Authority DJ Coalition will not just focus solely on promoting Carolina artists, Djs, and music industry professionals to the rest of the nation but also creating effective and affordable marketing strategies and campaigns for artists from other areas to brand themselves and gain exposure in the Carolinas as well. “We don’t want to be small minded and not network with artists and music industry professionals from other areas, no man is an island,” states DJ Chuck T, “our goal is to not only help our artists get national exposure but help artists, both signed and unsigned, from other areas gain exposure here too.”

The Authority DJ Coalition also hopes to tackle the catch-22 that has mired relationships between Carolina DJs and artists for years. Right now, DJs feel like whenever a local artist finds him/herself in a position from which a Carolina DJ could benefit (i.e., a record deal or touring opportunity), they run to larger-named DJs in outside markets. The artists on the other hand feel like the DJs would rather invest the energy into breaking a brand new artist from New York or Atlanta in their local markets than to support the artists whose careers they’ve been able to see develop locally over years. The Authority aims to change that relationship by putting the DJs at the forefront of the “Carolina Movement” and tasking them with the responsibility of shining a national spotlight on their local artists. It will also be these DJs’ duty to create a legacy of support for Carolina artists by mentoring up-and-coming DJs in the region.

As it is now, membership into the coalition will continue to be available by invitation only; with potential members identified by the impact they have within their local market and their ability to grow The Authority DJ Coalition’s vision. And while Chuck T’s goal is to extend the organization’s roster to the DC-Maryland-Virginia area, he has no intention on growing his team beyond that. “I feel like none of the other DJ coalitions are focusing on the talented DJs here in the Mid-Atlantic states, who are just as skilled, talented and definitely connected as their counterparts in larger cities,” he explains. “So my goal is to empower DJs like myself in a way that no other national group has ever done.”

For more information about The Authority DJ Coalition, please contact DJ Chuck T at TheAuthorityDJs@Gmail.com, or visit them online at www.THEAUTHORITYDJS.com.

Check out the new @DORMTAINMENT episode "I Hate Rappers" #Hilarious

The reason I love this video so much, aside from the dude in the FUBU shirt and the sarcasm, is because he actually makes some strong points that some indie rappers could take into consideration. Your image is EVERYTHING!!

My fav point was when the vid first jumps into it "Don't flaunt and throw your money around then complain when nobody wants to buy your single or mixtape". They also jump into the whole "bragging about not sleeping". That's good you working but if your numbers aren't proving it them why are you putting your health at risk? Even more of the reason you should invest in management or a PR/Publicist.

Side note: I love rappers... the business minded and marketable rappers. :) #ENJOY

[FIRST LOOK]: @REALWIZKHALIFA REVEALS "CABIN FEVER 2" COVER ART & TRACKLIST

Wiz is a small time favorite of mine. Particularly because he was my first big story and got this website its first hug wave of traffic back in 2010 when he got arrested in my city for his infamous fumes of weed smoke from his tour bus on his tour stop to ECU. (See full story here).

Apparently it drops tomorrow so I guess it doesn't matter how much marketing it should take, he the fuckin Wiz and his viral fan base is quite lucrative.

**ARTIST PROFILE** @BigV_ANWSkyzone THE HARCORE IS BACK AGAIN!!!! Chef Boy-R-V mixtape due Halloween

Hip Hop shrinks and grows as much as any living thriving culture. Attributes and attitudes in Hip Hop are never lost but, they often fade into history quietly without any of the attention it received when it was introduced to the masses. Things like grimy New York rap, retro sneakers, graffiti and cutting-n-mixing are longed for when they fade from popularity. Their value waits to be rediscovered by a new generation of Hip Hop heads like an antique glossed in dust and memories. Then, there are aspects of Hip Hop like snap music, Hammer pants and shiny suits that leave quickly and quietly wait for the day that our culture breathes new energy into their popularity. More of us than less of us wish these trends remain in a forgetful hemisphere of the brain where embarrassing moments and bad haircuts dwell. Still, once an aspect of Hip Hop has faded away its value isn't lost.

Whether we miss it or celebrate its absence, the value of the trends we follow, forget and resurrect in our culture never fades. Our nostalgia is necessary! It leads us to our evolution. Hip Hop is going through its growing pains to become something more. Much as rock-n-roll evolved through punk rock, heavy metal and grunge, Hip Hop has begun to branch off into variations that add to its value with originality and ignorance while still longing for further growth stimulated by its core principles and values.

So what is the next step? Is there anything we are longing for now? What aesthetic quality or relevant trend are we waiting for to continue growing?

Hip Hop experienced and explosion of success and wealth as the 2000s got underway. Bling Bling was everywhere. Bentley sales AND RENTALS went through the roof. Clothing lines and movies became as much a part of the artist as actual lyrics and talent. The hustle has been good to us. But somewhere along the way, our popularity made us soft. Our displays of success often outshine our stories of struggle and grind. The hardcore was lost! It never left our stories and road to success. But, its relevance left our artist expression.

The raw rap is bubbling beneath the gloss of the glitz and glamour of our industry. Underground and indie artist are taking brands of hardcore raw rap and turning it into success. Our culture is on the verge of its next evolution. The underground indie artists are here to change the way we see ourselves and our experiences. Their stories will change the world.

The story of Big V is waiting to be heard. Who the fuck is Big V??? Big V is the story of that hardcore realness bubbling beneath the industry. No commercial interests, no success without struggle and no bullshit in truth telling. He is an underground independent artist building a fan base based on one simple principle---the real. As cliche as it sounds, its so real that he makes his own Skyzone Society brand t-shirts in his living room for his fans. He personally mails CDs to the fans that request hard copies of his music. He shoots his own videos without renting jewelry cars and strippers. There is no glamorous glow to his appeal.

He grew up in Smalltown USA. Specifically, he is from Kinston, NC and will proudly rep his hometown. It would be misleading to the reader if I didn't let you know that I had the pleasure of growing up with Big V. Hip Hop was always apart of his life. He would write raps in class---at least the boring classes. When the ciphers pop off in school, he was right in the middle of them going hard. He carried his passion with him off to NC A&T. I didn't keep in touch with him during that time in his life. But, the Hip Hop community of NC was well aware of the groundwork he was putting into networking and perfecting his craft. It didn't surprise me that people would show him so much love. Big V comes from those beautiful Hip Hop principles of raw talent and hard work. He isn't an overnight celebrity. He's been rapping since he could listen to rap and he's been writing rhymes since he learned to hold a #2 China. He prays for the success and is thankful for the blessings. His focus is on staying true to his passion and growing as an artist.

The only thing Big V cares about is the quality of his performance and the message of hardcore that he wants to express. Like many indie artists, Big V grinds from the grassroots-- one fan at a time. He's self-funded two tours that have touched The Carolinas, Georgia and Alabama. His new mixtape, Chef Boy-R-V, will be his 17th release-- 13th official. Dropping this Halloween, Chef Boy-R-V will continue to add to the "real rap" message that Skyzone Society is built on. Hardcore is coming back! And Big V is an artist leading the way into the future.

The original "King of Vagina" is reported to have claimed that he wants a check from French Montana.

If you didn't already know, Montana's latest hit "Pop Dat" samples throwback group 2 Live Crew's single from Uncle Luke, "I Wanna Rock", and allegedy while on the red carpet of the 2012 BET Hip-Hop awards a few weekends ago, Luke expressed his confusion as to why he hasn't been paid for the song yet. Apparently he said that he will have to speak to Diddy in person about being compensated for French sampling his song.

According to sources online Luke was quoted, "When I heard the song I said, 'Oh this is a hit,' and the next thing I said is, 'Where's my check?' Ain't nobody told me about my check yet. I have not gotten the check yet, so I'm looking for the check. I'm gonna talk to Diddy in the back about it."

3 Things to think about during tonights Presidential Debate.

In preparation for the 1st Presidential Election debate, we came across this picture from the Obama Social Media Team and would like to share it with our readers.

Yes we are voting for Obama in November and one of the number 1 reasons he has our vote is because he supports students chasing their dreams in college and doesn't believe a student should have to be overwhelmed with student loan debt just because they want to further their education to get a good job making a good paying salary. Not all of us are low class and in poverty and not all of us get government help Romney.

The Truth In Hip Hop Belongs To The New School. **ARTIST PROFILE** @ClearSoulForces by. @Al_is_Handsome

There are moments, artists, beats and verses in Hip Hop that cover your spirit or mood in a blanket of nostalgia. It is an indescribable joy often marked by a head nod and a smile. We connect that feeling of nostalgia to memories we have acquired or things we have learned in our personal lives. Who can't connect their favorite song or favorite album to a life memory! In a word, we call that connection THE TRUTH. The genuine and organic nature of the truth makes the truth so much more valuable as it is juxtaposed against the routine and monotony of everyday life. Its amazing how the truth just simply happens out the blue.

While Hip Hop has given me many truths of my own, I'd like to share with you one that recently covered me in its nostalgia.

I was having a Hip Hop discussion in a Hip Hop forum last Saturday. The forum is filled with mostly late 30 to early 40 year old guys who can relate to you those pioneering Hip Hop experiences of DJing in the park, working with Afrika Bambata and The Zulu Nation and other early Hip Hop comings and goings. I naturally stick out like flashing lights in a rear view mirror. I'm the youngest guy in the group, the only country boy from The South and, lets be honest, the only guy in there that listens to and acknowledges the new generation of Hip Hop music. I stick up for the artistic integrity and dopeness of our 90s-baby brothers and sisters. The culture may be commercialized more than ever now but that doesn't mean the 90 babies don't create fire.

Obviously among those old school former 1980s teenagers, I got bombarded by nay-saying and borderline hostility for my stance.

"These kids don't make anything worth listening to these days"

"Lil Wayne couldn't hold KRS-1's jock strap"

"You think Wacka Flacka and Soulja Girl are real MCs"

"They don't make real hip hop anymore"

Then out the blue one of the commenters threw me a life-line of mutual agreement. He acknowledged that there are a few new guys out here who still carry the torch of Hip Hop creativity and artistry. Lupe, J.Cole, Big KRIT, Kendrick Lamar, B.O.B, Nipsey Hussle, Vado---there are plenty young MCs capable of mastering the ceremony. I'm glad he came along and agreed with me because I was just about to cuss a few niggas out online (and we all know that's some lame shit). THEN IT HAPPENED!!!

The dude posted a link and asked me to check out the young spittas in the Youtube clip. By the time I finished the video, I was floored! I must have rewound it 10 times and of course I had my head nodding. I couldn't believe how raw and witty the four young guys were. Next thing I know I was listening to every Youtube video they had, checking out their website, following them on Twitter and texting my homies like "Yoooooooooo you niggas gotta hear this new shit I just heard. I'm bout to put you on." ...you know the usual online Hip Hop groupie shit LOL #NoHomo...

The experience was so organic! I didn't need 106 and Park to come and tell me that I need to check their song out and vote for it. I didn't need DatPiff.com to plaster banners all over their website for me to check it out. I didn't need Funk Master Flex to retweet them. I found their music the original way in which THE TRUTH is usually passed---word of mouth.

The group is called Clear Soul Forces. They are four young guys out of Detroit. They dig deep in the crates. They twist the wittiest lines into ferocious bars. They possess everything Hip Hop purist say this generation doesn't---skills! There music feels like a marriage of that hardcore street Detroit battle rap and soulful A Tribe Called Quest recording sessions. They are young and original and stay true to the principles of integrity and ability Hip Hop was born from. They have perfect balance. Raw and Smooth. Hardcore and Soulful. Tradition and Futuristic. Youth and wisdom.

The four members, E-Fav, L.A.Z., Noveliss, and Ilajide, were once separate artists following their own individual aspirations. They had come together to pay for studio time that they couldn't afford individually. That studio time would unite them in a 9 hour freestyle session for the ages. That fateful night in 2009 also gave them the opportunity to meet renown Detroit rhymer, Royce 5'9, who sat in on the freestyle session. It was Nickle Nine who suggested they combine their creative energy. And thus Clear Soul Forces was born. Since that day they have released a mixtape, an EP and a debut album. The four are self-proclaimed studio rats and rest assured more is on the way. Inside their studio dubbed "The Complex" they weave socially conscious content, poetic energy and Golden Era Hip Hop soundscapes into innovative blends of new school ambition and old school nostalgia. We #SUPPORT KoolKidzTV and their documentary project "American Beatboxer". Check it out and donate!

This film documents one of the most neglected genres of Hip Hop culture and placing it in its rightful place in Hip Hop history. We at SRA took the info from KickStarter.com to share with our audience.
  • Launched:Sep 20, 2012
  • Funding ends:Oct 31, 2012

On July 31, 2010 in Brooklyn, New York, the first ever American Beatbox Championship took place. Beatboxers and beatbox fans from all over the world converged at Littlefield Performance and Art space to witness and participate in this historic event. Contestants of all races from throughout the United States competed. Now it’s down to the eight finalists! This documentary honors the evolution of Beatboxing juxtaposed against the final day of competition to crown the first American beat boxing champion.
This film documents one of the most neglected genres of Hip Hop culture and places it in its rightful position in Hip-Hop history as a bona fide American art form. The awesome soundtrack is provided by the multi-talented finalist, Maximillion and FulleeLoaded Productions. Featured performers are W.B.A. founder Chesney Snow; host Hobbit from the U.K., and Beatbox, Hip-Hop trailblazers and contest judges, Rahzel and Jarobi White from a Tribe Called Quest!

We need your help specifically to raise marketing funds for our film so we can place our labor of love strategically into relevant film festivals and markets such as the American Film Market (AFM) to obtain distribution. These funds would help pay for submission fees, promotional and screening copies, post cards, poster art, press kits etc...

Let's help put Beatboxing in its rightful place in Hip-Hop culture and music history. Let's help plant the seeds for the next generation of beatboxers. Come on! Be a part of this great project!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

A word from Chesney Snow: Giving the audience a way to plug into a part of Hip-Hop history. Hip-Hop as always been about make something from nothing, we are a group of community filmmakers that believe the power, artistry and hip hop and  the music of beatboxing  and we wanted to tell the story of the first American Beatboxing Championships. We wanted to reach to people who love hip hop, love music and wanted to contribute/take part to a telling a story of historic moment in hip hop, we have seen how hip hop brings people from all of the world together and beatboxing is an example of that. We are a group of diverse artists that are united by hip hop are trying to tell a story about something we love. As a beatboxer, musician, filmmaker, producer and like any struggling artists  we are constantly trying to make our works and passions sustainable. So we are reaching out to our friends and community members to help us do something that we might not be able to make possible . We are reaching out to a wider audience to help us get funding for the completion and marketing. Thank You!

GOT TALENT? ALL MUSIC, POETS, MODELS SUBMIT AND GET CONNECTED! READ MORE HERE...

As many of you already know we always are looking for talent to promote and feature on the SR Articles, however, not all submissions make the cut due to poor quality, poor production, being too cliche or just not being Hip Hop enough; but that should NOT stop you, as the artist or poet or model, from getting out your dream. Many know me as just the writer and founder of SRA but I am also a PR and consultant for many artists and have been talent scouting and co-producing for almost 10 years. No matter what, if I get music from you, if its not posted, its forwarded out or at least responded back with some suggestions. Some like it, some don't but you don't learn or get better without constructive criticism. There are no "yes men" over here. With that said, our sister site is now posting and reviewing submissions and we hope you take the time to also get your music, poetry and pics in to sr.mixtapes@gmail.com.

We ask that you take the time to visit The Phaymus Review website and check out some of the talent currently being featured. It started yesterday and there are already some reviews up!
